NTNP Programs
The NTNP comprises two main streams:

Skilled Workers Express Entry System
For skilled workers who have a legitimate job offer in the NWT, this stream facilitates expedited processing by aligning with the federal Express Entry system. Candidates must fulfill the requirements for the Canadian Experience Class Federal Skilled Trades or Federal Skilled Worker economic immigration programs. A job offer in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) occupation with a skill level of 0 A or B is also required as is a valid Express Entry profile.
Stream of Skilled Workers
Aimed at people who have received a full-time permanent job offer from an NWT employer in a skilled occupation (NOC Skill Level 0 A or B). Candidates must exhibit adequate language proficiency and possess the training and professional background required for the role.
Stream of Critical Impact Workers
Intended for foreign workers in the NWT who hold semi-skilled or unskilled jobs (NOC Skill Level C or D). Candidates must work full-time for the same company that is offering them a permanent position for at least six months. They also need to have the required education and work experience as well as meet language proficiency requirements.

Entrepreneurs and company owners who are prepared to contribute to the NWT economy are the program’s target audience. It includes:
Business Stream
For people who are prepared to start buying or investing in a business in the Northwest Territories. Candidates must show that they have a minimum personal net worth of $500,000 CAD if their company is in Yellowknife or $250,000 CAD if it is located outside of the city. They must contribute at least $300,000 CAD (within Yellowknife) or $150,000 CAD (within Yellowknife) to the company. In addition, candidates must meet language proficiency requirements, have relevant experience and education, and provide a $75,000 CAD good faith deposit.
