British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) contributes to the economic development of the province and earns permanent residence in Canada. The program is intended for entrepreneurs, skilled workers, and foreign graduates who meet British Columbia’s requirements for education and experience.

Skills Immigration Stream

Skilled and semi-skilled workers in British Columbia’s high-demand occupations are the target audience for this stream. Candidates need to have a legitimate offer of employment from a B. C. employer and fulfill certain requirements such as having relevant work experience, education, and language skills. The Skills Immigration Stream evaluates variables like age, education, work experience, and adaptability using a points-based system.

Express Entry British Columbia

For applicants who meet the necessary requirements and have a legitimate job offer in British Columbia, this stream expedites the immigration process in accordance with the federal Express Entry system. The applicants must meet the BC PNPs specific requirements and be eligible for one of the federal economic immigration programs such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program or Canadian Experience Class. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of successful nominees is raised by 600 points greatly increasing their chances of being invited to apply (ITA) for permanent residence.

BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration (EI)

This program is designed for seasoned businesspeople who are prepared to invest in and actively run a company in British Columbia.

Key requirements include:

  • A minimum of CAD $600000 in personal wealth.
  • Exhibited management or business expertise.
  • The creation of a new company or the acquisition and enhancement of an already existing one.
  • At least CAD $200000 must be invested personally in the company.
  • The establishment of a minimum of one full-time position for a permanent resident or Canadian citizen.

Additionally, candidates must be able to communicate in English or French at a CLB level 4 or above.

BC PNP Tech Pilot

The goal of the BC PNP Tech Pilot is to draw in highly qualified technology workers to British Columbia. Candidates must be eligible if they meet the requirements of the Express Entry BC or Skills Immigration streams and have a valid job offer in one of the 29 tech occupations. Weekly invitations are sent by BC PNP to eligible registrants who have legitimate job offers in these fields.

Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS)

Candidates receive a registration score from the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) which is a point-based system that decides whether they can be invited to apply. Years of direct work experience and educational attainment are some of the factors that determine the score. A. employment offer — which exhibits a person’s capacity to thrive in the workforce and support the local economy.

A candidate who has registered under SIRS is given points based on the criteria listed below. Every detail entered in the registration will be compared to the information entered in the application when the candidate is invited to apply.

Processing times vary based on the applications’ completeness and the stream. In general, receiving a nomination may take several months after the application is submitted.

For most BC PNP streams you must have a legitimate job offer from a BC employer. Some categories like the Skills Immigration Streams and International Post-Graduate categories do not, however, need a job offer.

Indeed, for applicants who might not be eligible for the federal Express Entry system the BC PNP offers non-Express Entry streams. Express Entry applications, however, can speed up the immigration procedure.
