Yukon Immigration Streams

The YNP has several different streams which cater according to each applicant’s profile:

Yukon Express Entry

For eligible applicants, the immigration process is accelerated by this stream’s integration with the federal Express Entry system.

The requirements for eligibility are as follows

  • A person must be eligible for one of the federal economic immigration programs such as the Canadian Experience Class Federal Skilled Worker Program or Federal Skilled Trades Program.
  • A legitimate offer of employment, full-time and permanent from a Yukon employer.
  • As directed by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) exhibit adequate settlement funds.
  • The intention is to live and work in Yukon.

Yukon Skilled Worker Program

This stream targets people with skills in levels 0 A or B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) making it easier to nominee qualified professionals.

The requirements for eligibility are as follows

  • Obtain an offer of employment in NOC 0 A or B from a qualified Yukon employer full-time permanent.
  • A minimum of a year’s worth of relevant work experience.
  • Relevant educational background for the role including a high school degree at minimum.
  • Language competency: CLB 5 for NOC B and CLB 7 for NOC 0 and A.

Yukon Critical Impact Worker Program

The lack of workers in semi-skilled and unskilled occupations (NOC C and D) is addressed by this stream.

The requirements for eligibility are as follows

  • Get a permanent full-time offer of employment from a Yukon company in NOC C or D.
  • A minimum of six months of relevant work experience.
  • Relevant educational background for the position with at least a high school degree.
  • Language proficiency: French or English at least CLB 4.

Yukon Business Nominee Program

This is designed for business managers and entrepreneurs who are prepared to make investments and actively run a company in Yukon.

The requirements for eligibility are as follows

  • On the Nominee Assessment Grid obtain a minimum score of 65 points.
  • At least three years of experience running a business or being an entrepreneur.
  • Five or more years of experience in the field of the proposed business.
  • A minimum of CAD $500,000 in net worth with CAD $300,000 in liquid assets.
  • Plan to invest at least CAD $300,000 in business in the Yukon.

Yukon Community Pilot

Participants in this pilot program can work for several employers in participating in Yukon communities thanks to a special work permit.

The requirements for eligibility are as follows

  • The Yukon must propose a candidate for permanent residence.
  • Hold two or three job offers from companies in the same Yukon community that are participating with a minimum of thirty hours per week.
  • Work must be non-seasonal and pay at least the minimum wage set by the region.
