It is intended for skilled workers who can show a strong bond with Manitoba through family, prior education or employment in the province, or an invitation from a Strategic Recruitment Scheme. To obtain employment in Manitoba’s labor market, candidates must possess the requisite education, work experience, and language skills.
Eligibility Requirements
- An association with Manitoba (e.g. family relationships with a professional background or invitation).
- Work experience of at least six months in a profession listed as one of Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations.
- Proficiency in the language required by the profession.
Manitoba Business Investor Stream
This stream is for people who want to start or buy a business in Manitoba. Two application pathways are available to applicants:
The Farm Investor Pathway is for those establishing and running a farm in rural Manitoba and the Entrepreneur Pathway is for those launching a new company or buying an existing one.
Eligibility Requirements
The Entrepreneurial Route:
- A minimum investment of $150000 outside of the Winnipeg Metropolitan Region or $250000 within it.
- Presentation of a business plan.
- A net worth of at least $500,000.
- Experience running or owning a business.
Farm Investor Pathway:
- A $300000 minimum investment.
- An application for a farm business plan.
- A net worth of at least $500,000.
- Experience in farm operations.
International Education Stream:
With three pathways, the Career Employment Pathway, the Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway, this stream is designed specifically for international graduates from post-secondary institutions in Manitoba.
Eligibility Requirements
Career Pathway for Employment:
- Finished at least one year of post-secondary education in Manitoba.
- Offers of employment in a field with high demand.
- Constantly living in Manitoba since graduating.
The Graduate Internship Pathway:
- Finished a doctoral or master’s degree in Manitoba.
- The internship with Mitacs Elevate or Accelerate was finished.
The Student Entrepreneur Pathway Program:
- Completed a post-secondary program in Manitoba that lasted at least two years.
- Run a company in Manitoba for a minimum of half a year.
- A minimum of 51% of the company must be owned.
